How The Resort Made Coeur d’Alene Great is a wonderful

story and you get to read all about it here.

The Coeur d’Alene Resort Hotel is the HUB of Coeur d’Alene Idaho.  But it has not always been that way.  Now let’s start the story with why the Resort is the HEART of Coeur d’Alene.

.

Without the Resort, we would not have the thriving tourist industry we do today.  Without the resort we would not have the thriving local economy we have today.  Without the resort, we would not have thousands of people moving here with their families or for retirement.  Without the resort, nobody would have ever heard of Coeur d’Alene.

.

Our History is Indians, Fur traders, Loggers, and miners.  Because this History is not an exciting story we will go right to Duane Hagadone.

.

Duane graduated from Coeur d’Alene high school in 1950 and was educated to run his father’s media business in Coeur d’Alene.  Duane’s father died in 1956 and pushed Duane to lead the Coeur d’Alene Press. By 1970, the Coeur d’Alene Press had become the most successful newspaper in the Scripps group of papers.

Eventually, Mr. Hagadone had accumulated some cash from his business to help grow the brand called “Coeur d’Alene”

.

“I always thought Lake Coeur d’Alene was a world-class site, deserving of a world-class hotel,” Hagadone said. “When the opportunity came up to build the Resort hotel, I took advantage of it.”

.

Mr. Hagadone purchased the North Shore Motor Inn and built it into the Coeur d’Alene Resort Hotel & Spa.

The Coeur d’Alene Resort & Spa changed North Idaho’s image. Duane’s aggressive marketing turned “Coeur d’Alene” into a brand. People who attended conventions at the resort returned to the area for vacations and second-home purchases. And Coeur d’Alene that started as a faltering mill town emerged as a nationally known destination with a booming real estate economy.

.

Hargadon’s vision was pioneering for its time. “Clearly the resort was a very bold investment. It put Coeur d’Alene on the map,” Jonathan Coe said. “It created a name and a reputation for us throughout the country.”

.

Hagadone decided to build a The 5-star golf course, that helped create the resort’s reputation.  The 2,300-ton floating green was built September 1990.  The first floating green in America put the Coeur d’Alene golf course on the map with the rich and famous.

The Floating Green, a technological marvel. Made famous as one of the most unique and recognizable golf holes in the world. The first and only floating movable golf green, allows the 22,000-ton island to move along an intricate underwater cable system to change the distances from the tee.

.

Today, people are moving to Coeur d’Alene to improve the lives of their children.  Make their retirement money last twice as long.  And to enjoy the simple life in a beautiful place with the best outdoor adventure in America.

.

The Coeur d’Alene Resort Hotel sits in the middle of downtown on Lake Coeur d’Alene.  And is the best Hotel to visit to Enjoy Coeur d’Alene at it’s best.

10 years ago I had a business in Los Angeles California with 67 employees and 3 small children.  My wife and I decided we needed to get the heck out of California.  And we started looking for the best places in America to move our kids.

.

I heard about Coeur d’Alene from my pastor and wondered what the heck Coeur d’Alene was like?  Did they have a COSTCO?  Would I live on a POTATO Pig farm?  And would I travel around in a covered wagon with horses?

.

I did my research online and had a hard time learning about why we would want to move to Coeur d’Alene.  So we booked a vacation at the Coeur d’Alene Resort.  We flew into Spokane airport and rented a HUMMER so we could drive around CDA looking at homes to buy.

.

When we arrived at the Resort we were greeted by many friendly people and we fell in love with Coeur d’Alene.  We played a round of golf at the floating green course.  Had dinner at Beverly’s and we decided this was a paradise we wanted to raise our children in.

.

When we started shopping for homes to buy we were amazed at what we can buy for the money.  When we visited local churches and private Christian schools we were excited to move as quickly as we could to this paradise called Coeur d’Alene.

.

Now 10 years later I started a new business called: Enjoy Coeur d’Alene that was built to help people like you find a better place to live after you decide to get out of the big city and move to a place where life is more simple and the future is bright.

.

So join me in this paradise called Coeur d’Alene.  And make your first experience here a vacation at the Coeur d’Alene resort hotel.
