Country Cute Servers

This Steakhouse restaurant is just a short drive from Downtown Coeur d’Alene. And is so unique, you need to know what you are getting into before you make the decision to eat at this establishment.

The drive to get here is about 10 minutes from downtown Coeur d’Alene, but you get on a small country road that makes you wonder if you are lost.

When you arrive it looks like you are at a small town cabin to meet up with all your neighbors and makes you wonder if you even want to enter this place.

As you walk across the rock gravel parking lot, packed with cars, you come to an ‘Old Barn Door.’ And realize this is the entrance to the most talked about Steakhouse restaurant in Coeur d’Alene.

This is the entrance, you ask yourself?

.

And the entrance door says this;

.

This Building is Protected by High Voltage And A Man With a

Double Barrell Shotgun 3 Nites A Week.  You Guess The Nite.”

.

You open the creaky door and find yourself inside the strangest looking lobby of one of the most famous restaurants in Idaho.  It’s dark, full of old wood and photos and antlers and horse saddles and some things you can’t decide exactly what they are.

.

A toilet seat with a mans face inside of it hanging on the wall?

.

.

What have I gotten myself into enters your mind?

.

.

.Then with relief, some very friendly restaurant staff come over and greet you with a smile.

.

The process of getting to your table takes you on a maze around a place like you have never seen before.  With people everywhere.

.

Where did all these people come from and why on earth would they all be packed inside a place like this?

.

.

The food better be GREAT you think to yourself.  Quickly our table server comes over with a big smile and a,”Hello Ya All.”  That’s when you remind yourself you are in Idaho after all.

We place our order with the nicest “COWGIRL” server I have ever seen.

.

And then the salads arrive.  I have to say I was not impressed with the salad. But I remind myself I am in Idaho and salads are just an afterthought to give you something to do why your STEAK is being slowly cooked on the open flame.

.

So I take a walk around this interesting place and I find the cook, out in the center of the restaurant cooking on an open flame.  The cook looks like your cousin Billy at a backyard barbecue.  No white cooks hat or white coat.  In fact, he looks like he snuck in the back door.

.

While he is cooking I ask if I can take some photos and he replies no problem. And with some questions of mine, I find out he has been cooking award-winning steaks in this spot for 18 years.

As I walk around this warm and cozy place trying not to trip on the wood plank floors.  Everywhere I turn I meet another happy and friendly staff person who greets me with a smile, says hello, and asks me if I need anything.

.

I make it back to my table with my camera and I’m ready for my Steak!  Here they come and my anticipation gets the best of me.  I’m ready to eat and skeptical.

.

Let me show you the photos of what my table was eating this night.

AMAZING meal!

.

Now I get it, it’s all about the STEAK.  I don’t know how to explain it, but let me tell you the steaks are so tasty that I just had to finish the whole thing.  And that was a challenge.  Nobody else at my table could finish their steaks.

As I was leaving the Wolf Lodge Inn and looking again at all the crazy decorations and I thought to myself that none of it even matters.  IT’S ABOUT THE STEAKS!

.

Don’t even try to come to this restaurant without a reservation because it’s always a packed house and for good reason.  I surely will be coming back for more.
